Airline Offers Option To Place Your Child In Cargo Hold For A Fee

Oceanic Airways has just announced a new service for all of those fed up parents and passengers that desire a quiet, peaceful flight. For an extra fee of only $35 you can now place your child or infant in cargo hold for the entire duration of the flight.

The controversial move comes amongst a struggling time for the airline, trying to increase revenue and regain passengers trust after they allowed passengers to host a maskless rave on a flight last March, almost forcing an emergency landing in the process.

The airline assures the parents that their children will fly in comfort amongst the baggage and pets in a climate controlled cargo space with “enough oxygen required for the flight.”

Babies and infants being transported into the cargo hold for their journey.

Suzy Blake, a mother who has recently used the service told us, “I loved the idea of having a quiet, peaceful flight and not having to deal with my screaming children; placing them in cargo hold was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.”

“If your baby cries frequently or has been known to cry during flights or long car journeys, then this option is probably best for you and the other passengers onboard, as well as the staff who doesn’t want to deal with your babies issues,” a spokeswoman for the company told us on Thursday.

Will this increase bookings for the desperate airline, or will it have the opposite effect? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
